Hello, I’m Rik Emaus, running to be your next Transylvania County Commissioner. As a retired physician and healthcare executive, I have the right business and leadership skills. As the father of seven adopted children, three currently attending TCS schools and one working locally, my heart is deeply rooted in our community.
Transylvania County isn't just a place on a map; it's our home, where we've discovered a community worth fighting for. Here, we see the potential of what we can achieve together, and recognized where we must urgently direct our efforts.
Our schools, the cornerstone of our future, face challenges that demand immediate attention. It isn’t just about infrastructure and economic issues; it’s about sending a message to our young people that we value them and their education.
I see a community where every family has access to affordable housing, quality healthcare, and robust mental health support. I'm committed to advocating for policies that strengthen our community and prepare us for a brighter future.
Actions speak louder than words, and my work in this community has delivered positive results on difficult challenges like youth mental health and COVID in our nursing homes. My campaign is about doing, not simply saying, and I'll work tirelessly to make Transylvania County a better place for all of us.
